Ludovico Failla

composer - kora player

about me

eyò, about me?

I’m currently based in Leipzig (DE), mainly focusing on music but also film and visual art. I compose, play drums, whistle, sing, studied indian tabla for a couple years and now studying the west-african kora harp and its music, while gathering material to shoot a feature film “soon”.

Born in 1991 in Palestrina (near Rome, Italy) and grew up studying jazz drums with my dad since I was 7, then visiting different masterclasses here and there. At 15 I started to learn about making electronic music, while moving chaotically thru art highschool.

For ’round 3 years I lived in London where I studied and worked as cook but then I went back to studying and completed a BA in Electronic Music and Audiovisual Composition in 2017, studying composition with Alessandro Cipriani and cinema sound with Maurizio Argentieri among others.

Since then I made 2 shorts, composed music for dance, podcasts, documentaries, installations and more. Here’s a selection of it.

My works have been shown @ :
Museum der bildenden Künste/Leipzig, Museo Arte Contemporanea di Roma, Ostrale/Dresden, Tempo Reale/Firenze, Videomedeja/NoviSad, Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst/Leipzig, Festival del Cinema di Pesaro, MiniMedia/New York, Premio Nazionale delle Arti/Avellino, and more.
